About the Kagawa Marugame International Half Marathon
The Kagawa Marugame International Half Marathon, held each year in early spring on a course that runs through the streets of Sanuki, will celebrate its 79th edition this year. Over the years, the race has become a well-established event in Marugame and one of the region’s signature sporting events.
The race was the first half marathon in Japan to be awarded Elite Label status by World Athletics (WA), and the 79th edition was also granted Elite Label status.
We are able to host such an internationally recognized event thanks to the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in its organization, as well as the generous cooperation and understanding of the people of Marugame. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who continues to support the event.
